Dear Friends, For years our staff have often received requests to start a counseling course that will benefit teachers, parents, social workers and all those whose work involves dealing with others effectively. This year we decided to respond to these expressed needs by making a Basic Counselling Course available specially to such persons. Our primary focus will be to teach basic counseling skills in such a way that the participants of the course will become proficient in the core aspects of counseling. We will also provide the basic background that will facilitate better learning of these skills. In keeping with the vision of Premanjali training programmes, our goal is to make our participants feel confident in using and applying these skills in the context of their basic relationships with children, parents, spouse and others, as well as in the work place.

While we frequently use words like ‘listening’, ‘understanding’, ‘empathy’, ‘compassion’, ‘forgiveness’, ‘care-frontation’ etc., quite often we are not able to apply these in our daily life, and this is where we can help you. If you are looking for a better way of relating and communicating, this is the course for you.

The course will provide handouts, reading material and practice sessions that will build confidence in using your learning in diverse situations. This course will also be useful for doctors, lawyers, employers and other professionals who are looking for ways to put clients at ease quickly, as well as establish rapport, so necessary to win over their confidence. For some who are not sure regarding the direction they intend to move into, this is the course for you. It will open the door if you wish to move in the direction of counseling and psychotherapy and we will be very happy to guide you.

This Basic Counselling Course is of six months duration, extending from 1st September, 2018, to the end of February, 2019. It will be held at Premanjali, Gass, Nallasopara West, on Saturdays, from 9 am to 5 pm, and is open to all, irrespective of whether you have a psychology background or not. All you are required to have is the passion to learn counseling skills and practice them.

Premanjali offers residential facilities for persons residing outside Mumbai or who might find commuting difficult. Those who live in the city of Mumbai and have the notion that Premanjali is far away, might be surprised to discover that it is quite easy and comfortable travelling to Premanjali in the morning and back home in the evening, as it is in the opposite direction to crowded train and bus travel to Mumbai at peak hours.

The Course Fee of Rs. 25,000 (inclusive of handouts and two teas) is to be paid on confirmation of admission to the course. Admissions will close once the allotment of 24 seats is filled.
